A Morning of Grace
The day began with the arrival of the sacred Padukas, followed by the sthapana of the divine forms of Mahavatar Babaji, Guru Gorakhnath Babaji and Gurudev Dattatreya. To the eyes they were just portraits but in reality, their energy was felt in every corner of the room. The venue was adorned with beautiful rangolis and flowers, lovingly prepared by the Sadhak’s as an expression of seva and devotion.
At 6 AM, as Dada entered the venue, a profound stillness and joy filled the gathering. Each sadhak offered a rose as an expression of gratitude. With his grace, Dada charged each rose and returned it as a blessing. He then tied a Raksha Sutra on every Sadhak’s wrist—a sacred reminder of protection, faith and the eternal bond between Guru and disciple.
The morning continued with the Abhishek of the Kuldevi and Kuldevta mantra chanting and Lord Dattatreya while chanting their Beej mantras, followed by a soulful Bhajan Session. As devotional melodies filled the space, hearts opened and emotions flowed. Many Sadhak’s reflected upon their journeys and the transformative grace of the Guru tattva in their lives.
Each sadhak had also written a personal note of gratitude for Dada. A few of these heartfelt messages were read aloud during the gathering, while every word, every feeling and every unspoken emotion found its way to Dada.
Wisdom That Turns Us Within
The Bhajan Session was followed by Dada’s deeply enriching Satsang, where simple stories unfolded into profound insights and meaningful lessons on karma, relationships, awareness and inner growth.
His teachings were not merely words to be heard, but reminders to be lived. The Guru does not simply provide answers; He turns the seeker inward, helping us recognise the attachments, patterns and limitations that stand between us and our true nature.
The Greatest Offering
A true Guru does not seek wealth, gifts or material offerings. The greatest offering is our transformation. As Dada lovingly says:
“Offer your weaknesses, your ego, your impurities as “Gurudakshina” —and turn inward, purified.” These words beautifully capture the deeper essence of Guru Purnima. For what greater offering can there be than an ego that bows, a heart that softens, a mind that becomes still, and a life that begins to reflect the wisdom of the Guru.
The day concluded with Maha prasad lovingly prepared by Sadhak’s, shared in the spirit of seva and togetherness. From the sacred rituals to the final moments of fellowship, the celebration carried the fragrance of devotion, positivity and grace.
When Grace Becomes the Way
Guru Purnima reminds us that the Guru’s grace is not simply something we receive; it is something that transforms us. The celebration is not about merely offering flowers at the Guru’s feet but to offer the thorns within our own hearts, to surrender our darkness so that his light may shine through us and to place our imperfections in his hands and walk away lighter, purer, humbler, and more awake.
May we carry this grace beyond Guru Purnima—not merely in our prayers, but in the way we live, love, serve and surrender.
For when the Guru’s grace touches the heart, transformation becomes the true celebration.
