Girnar – A Journey of the Soul
Some journeys are measured in miles, while others are measured by the transformation they bring within. The Girnar Yatra was not merely a pilgrimage to a sacred mountain—it was a journey into the depths of the self, guided by the boundless grace of the Guru.
The sadhaks gathered in Junagadh at an ashram nestled at the foothills of Girnar. Before sunrise, the ascent towards Guru Shikhar began. After seeking the blessings of Amba Mata, the journey continued towards Gorakshanath Tekdi and finally Guru Shikhar—a climb of thousands of steep stone steps.
The mountain tested every limit. The freezing morning winds gradually gave way to the scorching afternoon sun, and every step demanded unwavering determination. The group comprised seekers of all ages, including elderly devotees, individuals with health challenges and previous knee surgeries, many of whom had never attempted such a climb before. Some stumbled, some paused to gather strength, and some came close to giving up. Yet every sadhak reached the summit. It was here that the true meaning of Guru's grace unfolded—when the Guru accepts a disciple's responsibility, He Himself becomes the bridge between the seeker and Gurudev Datta. Though the sadhaks believed they were climbing, an unseen force seemed to carry them upward. Every step became an act of Karma Kshalan, and every breath resonated with the living presence of Gurudev Datta.
Yet Guru Shikhar was only the beginning.
Over the next two days, Abhijitnath Dada led the sadhaks into the hidden heart of Girnar—an ancient ashram connected to the sacred Ram Gufa and the revered Shiv Gufa, places rarely accessible to the public. The ashram, nestled in the silence of the mountain, also houses the sacred Kalbhairav Temple, where the yatra continued with a powerful Havan. This was followed by meditation inside the mystical Shiv Gufa, a cave deeply revered in the Nath tradition and believed to have been sanctified by the intense tapasya of great masters such as Shri Swami Samarth and Shri Shankar Maharaj. It is said that Shri Swami Samarth spent years in profound meditation here before beginning His divine mission for the upliftment of humanity. The cave still carries an indescribable stillness, where every breath naturally turns inward and meditation unfolds effortlessly.
The following day, in the serene Ram Gufa, Abhijitnath Dada bestowed individual Shaktipat Diksha and Rudraksha Mala upon every sadhak. In that sacred space, tears flowed without reason, emotions long buried dissolved, and the barriers of the mind simply melted away. What remained was only the Guru Tattva and the silent experience of the Self.
The sadhaks may not be able to describe what they gained materially, but one truth remains certain— their souls returned with something they had been seeking for lifetimes. They did not merely climb Girnar; by the Guru's grace, they were blessed to enter its living heart, experience its timeless spiritual vibrations, and return transformed from within.
Om Anand Om.
